Introduction
Live streaming complex events like earthquake drills requires a reliable and versatile setup. In this blog, we dive into how Mustafa, a cameraman from Esenler Municipality in Istanbul, Turkey, used YoloBox Pro to broadcast a critical earthquake drill and search and rescue exercise.

Background: Earthquake Drill & Search and Rescue Studies
Esenler Municipality’s search and rescue team organized a large-scale drill aimed at simulating various disaster response scenarios. This event involved simultaneous activities taking place across multiple locations. To ensure comprehensive coverage, a robust broadcasting setup was essential to capture every detail. The live broadcast played a crucial role in facilitating coordination, enabling the district governor and mayor to monitor the drill in real-time from the disaster coordination center.

The Setup
Since there was action happening simultaneously in many locations during the drill, he needed several cameras. In this regard, he used 2 Sony NX series cameras and 1 DJI Air 2S drone. So he connected these 3 devices to Yolobox via HDMI. Originally, the plan was to route audio through a mixer connected to one of the cameras. However, when the audio setup failed, Mustafa quickly adapted by connecting the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 to Yolobox via USB and activated the webcam mode. This way, he was able to transmit audio through the wireless lavalier microphone of the Pocket 3.
- 2 Sony NX Series Cameras: Connected via HDMI to YoloBox Pro for high-quality video feeds.
- 1 DJI Air 2 Drone: Also connected via HDMI to capture aerial footage of the drill.
- 1 DJI Osmo Pocket 3: Used in webcam mode with a USB connection to provide audio via its wireless lavalier microphone.

Game-Changing Features
- Multi-Camera Switching: Mustafa seamlessly switched between the two Sony cameras and the drone feed, providing viewers with dynamic perspectives of the drill.
- Multi-view Display: Using built-in multiview templates, including PiP, side by side, etc, Mustafa displayed feeds from different cameras simultaneously, enhancing the viewing experience.

- Reliable Recording: While live streaming, YoloBox Pro also recorded the entire broadcast, ensuring a high-quality backup for later use.
The Result: A Smooth, Professional Broadcast
Consequently, the live stream ran for 1 hour and 40 minutes, showcasing the search and rescue team’s efforts in real-time. The broadcast was shared on YouTube with restricted access. That means it allowed only authorized personnel, including the district governor and mayor, to view it. YoloBox Pro’s reliability and versatility ensured that every moment of the drill was captured and delivered flawlessly.
