Intro
In the world of live streaming, having the right tools can make all the difference. We recently had the pleasure of interviewing Tomasz Wala. Tomasz is a dedicated user from Poland who owns all models of YoloBox. As the owner of sucha24.pl, a portal focused on local news and event broadcasting, he has spent over 15 years immersed in video production. His experience spans cultural events, football matches, and various newsworthy broadcasts.
Join us as we delve into Tomasz’s journey, explore the challenges he faced, and discover how YoloBox transformed his live streaming experience. Below is the dialogue with Tomasz.
Where the YoloLiv Journey Began and Your Previous Video Production Experience
My journey started with the YoloBox OG, then moved on to the Pro, Mini, and now I use the Ultra model.
I discovered YoloBox while browsing various Facebook groups, where I came across a description of the YoloBox OG model. At that time, I was broadcasting using a laptop and vMix software but was searching for a more compact solution. In lower-league football matches, access to power on the stands is often unavailable.
Exclusivity of YoloBox and Challenges Solved
Although I also own vMix, I now use only YoloBox.
The biggest challenge for a one-person broadcast team is managing all the equipment. YoloBox solves many of these issues, such as power supply and the need for a laptop.
For example, I once broadcasted a football match in the rain without a roof or access to electricity. With YoloBox, all I needed was a tripod, a camera, and the device, fitting everything under one umbrella. Using vMix and a laptop in such conditions would have been impossible. Additionally, YoloBox eliminates the need for a second operator, saving both time and costs.
YoloBox Setup
For match broadcasts, I use a Sony HXR-NX70E camera connected to the YoloBox. A laptop is used for YoloCast management, and audio is captured using Rode Wireless GO II microphones.
For cultural events such as concerts, I use two Sony HXR-NX70E cameras, a Nikon D7200 DSLR, and audio taken directly from the sound engineer’s mixer, usually a Behringer X32.
Favorite Features of YoloBox
The most important feature of YoloBox is its simplicity. A single person can run a broadcast without relying on external power. I also have a subscription for signal bonding, which has virtually eliminated dropped frames, even at the highest streaming quality.
Moreover, with YoloCast overlays, we strive to enhance the visual quality of our broadcasts.
Another key advantage is the device’s continuous updates and the excellent communication between the producers and users. For the past few months, I have been hosting students from a local media-focused school for monthly internships. I teach them how to use the device. As a result, they can independently conduct their own broadcasts, showcasing YoloBox’s intuitive design.
Conclusion
Tomasz’s journey with all YoloBox models truly emphasizes his loyalty as a dedicated user of YoloLiv. He no longer relies on vMix, as he has found that YoloBox fully meets all his streaming needs. Each model—the OG, Pro, Mini, and Ultra—has significantly enhanced his ability to deliver high-quality broadcasts, even in challenging conditions. Furthermore, by teaching local students how to use these devices, he highlights their intuitive design and versatility. Ultimately, Tomasz’s experience serves as an inspiration for anyone looking to explore the exciting world of live streaming.
