Many YoloBox users have encountered an issue where video files played from an SD card have no sound or poor audio quality. The confusing part? These same videos sound perfectly fine when played on a computer. So, what’s going on?
The Problem: Audio Format Incompatibility
The issue isn’t with your YoloBox or the video file itself—it’s with the audio format. YoloBox Ultra supports various video formats, including MOV and MP4, but not all audio formats within those video files are compatible.
For example, if your video is in MOV format, YoloBox Ultra can play it. However, if the audio within that MOV file is encoded in an unsupported format like PCM_S16BE, you’ll run into problems. The video might play, but you’ll either hear no sound or experience degraded audio quality.

Recommended Audio Formats
To ensure your video files play correctly with audio on YoloBox, please use one of the following supported audio formats:
- AAC (Recommended)
- MP3
- WAV
- FLAC
Solution: Convert to MP4
If you experience this issue, the easiest fix is to convert your video to MP4 with an AAC audio track. MP4 is the most widely supported format and works seamlessly with YoloBox.
How to Convert Your Video:
- Use a free tool like Cloudconvert or FFmpeg.
- Select MP4 as the output format.
- Choose AAC as the audio format.
- Export and try playing it on YoloBox again.
By converting your files to MP4 with compatible audio, you’ll avoid any playback issues and ensure smooth live streaming or local playback. So, don’t forget to join the Facebook official user group. Share and learn more with us!
